I got a Dollar Tree hack for you! We are making a DIY Dollar Tree Cage industrial vintage light. This was done on a flush mounted light. You can choose to add beads and rhinestones if you’d like a chic look. This was done on a small budget after seeing some adorable ones online that I liked, but I didn’t want to spend that much money on a light fixture when we have so many other projects going on.
What you need:
Coupling
Locknuts
Nipples
Edison Light Bulb
Wire hanging basket from Dollar Tree
Ball mason jar lid
1/8 drill bit
Black spray paint
Directions:
Drill a hole through the center of your mason jar lid with a 1/8 drill bit
Paint your mason jar lid and adhere black electric tape around the light socket, optional
Change out your light to an edison bulb
If your existing nipple isn’t long enough, attach a coupling and a nipple extender to the existing nipple
Put your wire hanging basket against the flush mount, put your mason jar lid through the nipple, and attach it with a locknut.
And that’s it! Of course, it doesn’t look perfect or high end, but for under $2 I think it’s an amazing hack that will update your existing light fixture. This was done in Jaylis bathroom, to see that makeover, click here.
