A couple years ago I made the commitment to change out all of my beauty products. I was freaked out by all the toxic chemicals I was putting into my body, on my face, and in my home, every day without even realizing it. I slowly but surely was able to get rid of those harmful products one by one and replace them with better quality products.

Today I’m going to be talking makeup!

I was never big into makeup and in fact, I wear a lot less makeup now than I used to when I was younger (oh, the irony). I feel more beautiful without a ton of makeup on my face. I do enjoy watching some makeup tutorials for the art aspect of it. I admire those people who can “cake their face” like a pro!  I can barely get my eyeliner on straight half of the time!

I’m no makeup artist and I don’t claim to be. But a lot of people have been asking me to share what makeup products I use. And although I have been hesitant about sharing it (because I am no makeup artist) I decided I will share it for the curious minds 😉 Like I said, I prefer the natural look. I have tried several different brands and kinds of organic makeup and these are what I keep going back to.

This foundation is my absolute favorite! I used to wear Revlon Colorstay foundation (for combination skin) and this has been a great replacement for that.

Prior to switching over my makeup I used to use Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, but this is my go-to now.

To add a little color to my face I use this blush. It’s a perfect creamy blush that blends flawlessly and effortlessly.

One of the products that I don’t think I could ever go without is mascara. I have used almost every brand imaginable. I like to highlight my eyes and the way I do that is with mascara! This mascara is really nice and I also enjoy this one. I usually pair the two together. Is it just me or do you also like when the mascara has time to dry up a little? I feel like it applies a lot better and it’s easier to manipulate rather than when it’s brand new and fresh from the tube. This has been true with every mascara I have ever used.

I don’t go too crazy with contouring because I don’t think I’m very good at it. I do contour my cheekbones and sometimes I also do my nose. This contour palette has lasted me almost a year and I haven’t even “hit the pan” yet.

I decided after wearing hair extensions that I was going to make an effort to grow my hair out. I no longer want to wear hair extensions every day! The last hair extensions I used lasted me 4 months and my hair had grown out significantly, but it also caused a lot of thinning. I swear this shampoo and conditioner has made my hair grow so much in such a short amount of time. I really enjoy using it although I am not too sure how pure it is. I have tried almost every brand of organic / natural shampoo and conditioners and I just haven’t been able to find any that I like as much as this.

Being conscious about what products I’m using on my skin, body, and in my home while educating myself of the ingredients has made me feel more confident in my choices of having a toxic-free home.  What are your go-to beauty products?
