DIY PENDANT ORB LIGHT USING EMBROIDERY HOOPS!

I’m in the midst of decorating my accent wall. Do you remember the Airstone wall we did? I had always had plans on adding mirrors, shelving, or a cabinet on both sides and I just wasn’t sure what I wanted. But, one of the first things I knew we needed is lighting.

I always loved these orb lights. I saw some at Hobby Lobby (if you watch my snapchat, you remember this), but they were $80 and I needed two of them. I knew there had to be a more inexpensive way I could have those lights. My initial thought was using embroidery hoops.

So, I went home and googled “DIY Embroidery Hoop orb light” and low and behold…someone already did it.

Go check out the blog I used to do this project- http://www.petalandply.com/2013/03/diy-easy-embroidery-hoop-pendant.html

There were a couple things I had to do differently because it didn’t work the way it was shown on the blog…for me. I don’t know why. But regardless, I LOVE these lights and I’ve gotten so many compliments on them already. (And the accent wall isn’t finished, yet 😉

What do you guys think, is this something you’re going to make? Have you ever made a DIY light?
