DIY Front Porch Welcome Sign
Hey Guys! I’m sure we have all seen these DIY front porch “Welcome” signs, so today I’m going to show you how to make them! It’s really easy and SUPER inexpensive ‘Welcome’ Porch Sign. This project only cost me $3 to make and I bet you have all the materials on hand to make them! This is how to make a Welcome sign when you don’t have a cricut machine.
You can make this sign just using paper, a pencil, and paint!
*Edited to add new photos since moving into my new home. I have gotten so many compliments on this DIY Welcome Sign since moving into my new place. These DIY Welcome Signs make great gifts. In fact, my leasing agent (whom I love) just adores it so I’m going to make her one for Christmas!
You will need:
White acrylic paint
Paintbrushes
Board – 1X10 that’s 6’ long(exact dimensions are .75″ x 9.25″ x 6′ )
Stain (I used this one)
Pencil
I would also recommend using this sealer for it

Directions:
- Stain your board and allow to dry completely
- Print your letters, you can get your letters here.
- I cut the excess paper around the letters off and laid the letter out about 2″ apart from each other
- I used a really sharp pencil and outlined the letters onto the wood
- When you lift up your paper, you will see that it basically carved the wood
- I outlined the carving with paper, then painted it with white acrylic paint
- Seal it with a protective coat
It does take some patience, and a couple coats of paint, but I made this for THREE DOLLARS! I love the way it looks! Are you going to make one? I would love to see your projects, so don’t be shy, share them in the comments below! I’d love to see your DIY Front Porch Welcome Sign!
