DIY Acrylic Framed Poster & How to Hang It

DIY Acrylic Poster frame (& how to hang it!)

You guys remember this poster I got from Goodwill for, like, $1.99? I didn’t want to get it professionally framed…I wanted something more modern that could be easily changed out if I get bored with it. I decided to sandwich the poster between 2 pieces of acrylic sheets and mount it an inch off my wall so that it stands out, like 3 dimensional.

I used this standoff mounting kit to frame my DIY acrylic poster.

The first thing I did was measure and mark when I wanted the holes to go. 
I drilled a hole in all 4 corners of the acrylic on both sheets of acrylic – ensuring they lined up perfectly on top of one another. IMPORTANT! MAKE SURE YOU DRILL THIS ON A SOLID SURFACE. I did the first sheet of acrylic on carpet and it splintered the acrylic.
Make sure your screws from your standoff mounting kit fit in the holes. It’s okay if it has some wiggle room. 
The front of the standoff mounting kit will screw onto this. So I was just making sure that the hole was a good size.
We took it inside and marked where we wanted to hang it.
We screwed an anchor into the wall (and then hammered it into the wall all the way: not pictured)

Speed square / Marker / 21/64 drill bit made for plastic / drill gun / level/ Standoff mounting kit / 2 acrylic sheets / glue dots
