Hey Guys! I hope you’re all having a great week. Today I’m showing you how my brother and I made a DIY Curtain Rod Shelf. We made this for Jayli’s room because she needed somewhere to keep her porcelain collectibles that my grandma gets her every year for her birthday. And since we are in the midst of re-decorating her bedroom now is as good of a time as ever!
What you need:
Drill bit
Mitre box saw
.75 x 3.5 x 8′ board (for shelf) – You will need a board in your desired length/width (make sure you have enough leftover to make your 45 degree brackets.
7/16 dowel rod (for curtain rod)
Drywall screws
Mitre Box saw
Directions:
Cut your board to the desired length
With the leftover wood, (we used 7″) make your support brackets – cut at a 45 degree angle.
Make a hole into your support brackets for your curtain rod. We used a 7/16 drill bit
Use the leftover triangle from the 45 degree support brackets to make your support beams on both sides.
We used a drill bit to make holes for the screws in to the support beams and applied it to the wall using drywall screws.
I used these Rainbow Crystal Knobs for the end of the rod. I am obsessed with them and have used them in several other DIY’s so these were leftover from those other projects.
