Hey guys! Today I’m showing you how I am refurbishing this old, outdated, wooden coffee table with glass mirrors — for just a few bucks.
It never ceases to amaze me the difference that some paint can do! You can completely transform glass by turning it into mirrors, and paint any old wooden coffee table with a fresh coat of your desired paint!
I apologize for the crappy “before” picture. This was the only evidence I had of what this coffee table looked like before because I get so excited to start a new project that I forget to take pictures and videos, sometimes. I pulled this photo from a screenshot of “I Painted My Couch” video tutorial.
The first thing I wanted to do was paint the coffee table because I didn’t care for this color of wood.
This is the paint I used to paint the coffee table. I used 2-3 coats of paint allowing it to dry completely before applying the next coat of paint.
Rust-Oleum 1974730 Painters Touch Latex, Semi-Gloss Black
I applied 2-3 coats of black latex paint in semi gloss.
Then I used some clear wax over it once it completely dried. I used a tac cloth to apply this wax.
Furniture wax helps to protect the furniture against bumps and spills. It also forms a barrier against dust and makes it much easier to clean.
Now, here’s where the magic really happens. I removed the glass pieces from the coffee table, put a tarp down, and sprayed the glass pieces of the coffee table with Mirror Effect Spray Paint.

I love the effect of the Rustoleum Mirror Effect Spray Paint because it can turn any glass into a mirror. I applied this generously. I applied 3-4 coats of the Rustoleum Mirror Effect Spray paint.

The mirror effect spray paint turned these generic glass tops into MIRRORS!
After the spray paint and the paint dried and cured, I inserted the mirrored glass top pieces back into the coffee table
Here is the after when it all comes together <3 I LOVE IT! I like to put a lot of candles on it at night and it puts off this beautiful reflective lighting and it’s such a beautiful ambience.
